We all have our passions—those activities we return to, time and time again, not out of obligation, but out of pure drive, curiosity, and love for the craft. For me, these aren’t just hobbies. They are lifelong companions that sharpen my mind, feed my creativity, and often mirror how I approach business and life.

が、なぜかやめられず、気づけば“中毒”としか言いようのない関係に。
🎸 Guitar
When I say I’m into guitar, people usually imagine jaw-dropping solos and fiery stage presence.
Sorry to disappoint. I’m more of a circuit board ninja than a rock star.
What I enjoy most is modding — rewiring cheap parts, tweaking EQ curves, swapping pickups, chasing the perfect tone no one asked for.
I play daily, but it’s more like running lab tests than practicing.
In the end, my soldering skills evolved faster than my finger dexterity.
Expensive guitars? No thanks.
Modifying one would feel like scribbling on a Picasso. I have limits. Probably.
🎸 ギター
「趣味はギターです」と言うと、よく「演奏うまいんですね！」と期待されますが、弾いてるのは確かですが、そっちが本職じゃありません。
メインは、安物パーツを組み合わせての改造・音作り。
EQ調整、配線いじり、ピックアップ交換…気づけば工具が手に馴染んでます。
高級ギター？ 触りません。
そんなもん改造したらもったいない。
弾くのは毎日。けど目的は「検証と実験」。
音の違いを追いかけるうちに、指より先にハンダが上達しました。
♟ Shogi (Japanese Chess)
People often ask, “Oh, you play shogi? Are you good?”
Answer: Occasionally. On lucky days. Maybe.
My win rate isn’t the point (and I say that for self-preservation).
The hardest part is always the post-game reflection:
“What did I miss?” “Why did I lose?”
Cue quiet existential crisis.
My style?
Attack → Overextend → Collapse.
A solid pattern in both shogi and life.
For better or worse, I’m also a board member of the US Shogi Federation.
Not because I’m a grandmaster — just because I fell deep enough into the hobby to get roped into helping run the show.
♟ 将棋
「将棋お好きなんですね！ 強いんですか？」
――よく聞かれます。答えは、「たまに強い」です。
勝率はさておき、本当にキツいのは負けた後の反省タイム。
「なぜ負けたか？」「何を見落としたか？」と自問しながら、だいたい落ち込んでいます。
プレースタイルは、
攻める → 攻めきれない → 崩れる
の美しい（？）自滅型。人生でもよくあるパターンです。
ちなみに、全米将棋連盟（US Shogi Federation）の理事もやっています。
強いからじゃなくて、好きすぎて深みにハマった結果です。
🍷 Wine
Wine tasting started as curiosity.
Now it’s a certified rabbit hole.
I’m not a sommelier, but I can fake it with flair.
Tannin? Legs? Nose? Sounds like anatomy class, but sure — I’ll play along.
Truth is, I just love the ritual — opening a bottle, cooking alongside it, enjoying the mood.
And if the wine’s bad? Well, that’s what garlic and butter are for.

高級ワインではありません。
近所のスーパーで下の方の段に並んでるやつです。
酸味・タンニン・香りの違いを語るのが好きですが、
実際は「料理に合えばOK」派です。
ボトルを集めるより、空にする方が得意です。
