While we all have full-time jobs, families, and busy lives, we come together to rehearse, perform, and share the music we love — simply because it brings joy to us and (hopefully) to you.

🎤 Band Profile: 9PM

9PM is a 7-member remote band based in Seattle, Washington, formed in February 2022. The band covers a wide range of genres including City Pop, J-Pop, and Western pop/rock, bringing together musicians from different locations via online sessions.

• Members: 3 vocalists, guitar, keyboard, bass, and drums
• Practice Style: Rehearsals are held online twice a month using Yamaha’s SYNCROOM, usually at 9 PM (Pacific Time) on Friday or Saturday nights
• Origin of the Name: The name “9PM” was inspired by the band’s typical rehearsal time—9 o’clock at night

Before the name was officially decided, the band had an unofficial (and admittedly a bit rude) nickname: “the other band”, referring to the fact that the drummer was mainly active in another group. Thankfully, the band soon adopted its proper name, and 9PM has since grown into a tight-knit group exploring the creative potential of remote music-making.

🎤 バンド紹介：9PM（ナイン・ピー・エム）

9PMは、アメリカ・シアトルを拠点に、オンラインで活動する7人編成のリモートバンドです。2022年2月に結成され、CITY-POP、J-POP、洋楽など幅広いジャンルをカバーしています。

• メンバー構成：ボーカル3名、ギター、キーボード、ベース、ドラム
• 練習スタイル：Yamaha「SYNCROOM（シンクルーム）」を使って、**金曜または土曜の夜9時（Pacific Time）**にリモート練習を実施（頻度：月2回程度）
• バンド名の由来：「9PM」という名前は、主な練習時間が夜9時であることから命名されました。

結成初期、バンド名がまだ決まっていなかった頃には、ドラマーがメインで所属している別バンドと区別するために、なんと**「じゃない方のバンド」**と呼ばれていました（正直ちょっと失礼な話です）。しかし今では、9PMという名前のもとに、リモートならではの自由な音楽活動を展開しています。

🎤 Mari – Vocal

With powerful projection, precise pitch, and impeccable rhythm, Mari possesses a rare gift for conveying deep emotion through every note she sings.
A natural-born musician, she leads the vocal team with quiet authority and presence.
Coming from a musical family, her son is an accomplished jazz guitarist active in the U.S. — music truly runs in her veins.

🎤 Kazumi – Vocal

Kazumi delivers soulful, dynamic vocals and has the rare ability to harmonize by ear with incredible accuracy.
A highly disciplined and passionate person, she earned her U.S. Registered Nurse license while raising children — a true testament to her determination and intelligence.
Her talent and tireless effort shine both on stage and in life.

🎤 Akiyo – Vocal

Akiyo’s charming and delicate voice carries a uniquely sweet tone, with beautiful clarity especially in the high range.
Off stage, she’s a successful entrepreneur and CEO of a jewelry design and sales company — a woman of both artistic and business brilliance.

🎹 Nao – Keyboard

A classically trained pianist and the band’s musical compass, Naoko crafts arrangements and scores with theoretical mastery.
Her knowledge of music is at a doctoral level, and she speaks seven languages — a truly gifted polymath.
She also operates a Japanese language school in Seattle, bridging art and education in her professional life.

🎸 Sabu – Bass

A rock-solid bassist with professional-level groove and timing.
He’s well-versed in music theory, sight-reading, and ear training — a truly versatile player. On top of that, he brings musically tasteful, creative bass lines that give each song depth and color.
His calm, grounded presence helps keep both the band’s rhythm and relationships steady. A devoted family man, he gracefully balances music and life as a proud father of four.

🥁 Masa – Drums

An accomplished drummer active in multiple bands, Masashi excels across genres with versatility and control.
He also leads a global business consultancy that helps Japanese firms expand into U.S. markets, flying around the world while still making time for music.
A true leader both on stage and in business.

🎸 Tommy – Guitar

Moved to L.A. at 20, chasing dreams of metal glory with only a guitar in hand.
After a winding journey, he settled in the U.S., where he’s now battling his greatest foe — complex J-Pop chords.
Originally a power-chord-only metalhead, he now dives into melodic Japanese arrangements with passion and humility.
Forever evolving, he brings heart and grit to every note. （Not！）

🎤 Mari – Vocal

圧倒的な声量と安定したピッチ、そして揺るぎないリズム感。
一音一音に感情を込める表現力は、まさに天賦の音楽的才能の証。
その堂々たるステージングと存在感は、バンド内でもVocalチームを自然にリードするリーダー的存在。
音楽一家に育ち、息子さんはアメリカで活躍するプロ・ジャズギタリスト。血筋も音楽の申し子。

🎤 Kazumi – Vocal

力強く情熱的な歌唱力に加え、耳コピで正確なハーモニーを再現できるという音感の持ち主。
類まれなる努力家でもあり、育児と両立しながらアメリカの看護師国家資格を取得。
ストイックなまでの向上心と誠実な人柄で、音楽にも人生にも真摯に向き合う多才な女性。

🎤 Akiyo – Vocal

繊細で透明感あふれる、愛らしく魅力的な声質が最大の魅力。
特に高音域の抜けの美しさは、聴く人を一瞬で惹き込む力を持つ。
ビジネスの世界でも輝きを放ち、アクセサリー製造・販売の会社を自ら経営する、音楽と経営を両立する実業家ヴォーカリスト。

🎹 Naoko – Keyboard

クラシックピアノをルーツに持つ、理論派キーボーディスト。
楽譜の作成からアレンジ、音楽構成まで担うバンドの“音楽監督”的存在。
音楽理論は博士レベル、語学は7か国語を操るという超人的知性の持ち主。
日本語学校を運営し、教育・芸術の両面で活躍するまさに才色兼備の天才肌。

🎸 Sabu – Bass

プロ級の安定感とグルーヴ感で、バンドの“屋台骨”を支えるベーシスト。
リズムは一切ブレず、音楽理論にも精通。譜面の初見演奏も耳コピも自在にこなす万能型。さらに、センスあふれるベースラインで楽曲全体に深みと彩りを加える、音楽的貢献度の高いプレイヤー。
その穏やかな人柄で、音楽面だけでなく人間関係でもバンドをまとめる精神的支柱。 家庭では模範的な父親として、4人家族を支える頼れる存在。

🥁 Masa – Drums

多ジャンルに対応する柔軟なドラミングと安定したグルーヴでバンドの心臓を担う。
複数のバンドで活動するほか、音楽の枠を超えたグローバルな活躍も。
経営コンサルタントとして会社を率い、アメリカ市場展開を支援しながら、音楽活動も両立する“ビジネスとビート”の両輪を走るハイブリッド・ドラマー。

🎸 Tommy – Guitar

20歳でLAメタルに魅せられ、ギター片手に単身渡米。
波瀾万丈の人生を経てアメリカに根を下ろし、現在に至る。
かつてはヘビメタとパワーコード一筋だったが、今や複雑なJ-POPコードに日々奮闘。
演奏スタイルは武骨ながらも情熱的。音楽と向き合うひたむきな姿勢が胸を打つ、進化し続けるギタリスト。（なんてね。）
